This artistic expression based on the real site and its past, present and future will show the Islands district as it is meant to be: as an interactive, serial experience of one scene after another. This ‘Virtual Panorama Tour’ will have a digital gateway information kiosk and it will portray the area’s rich tapestry of natural and built environments. Computer-generated images of the conceptual vision of the future redevelopment plan will be superimposed, as will historical tales and lore of the precinct. It will give internet-compatible opportunities to explore the site while being remote. There will be a number of multi-layered expressions and interpretations brought to bear for the interactive experience. It will set up an interactive mini-theatre for orientation and interpretation of historical and future stories about the people and events that have/will take(n) place there. It will pass/float the viewer/participant through several of the significant natural/heritage zones on the Islands and have interpretive “pop-up plaques” of historical and future redevelopment information.
